The mission of the Utah DD Council is to be the state’s leading source of critical innovative and progressive knowledge, advocacy, leadership and collaboration to enhance the lives of individuals with developmental disabilities.
The Council exists to advocate for community inclusion of Individuals and families with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Developmental disabilities are lifelong disabilities either born with or acquired prior to age 22 and impact the functioning of an individual. The Council, created by federal law, is composed of a majority of citizen members appointed by the Governor of Utah, along with heads of state agencies that provide services for people with developmental disabilities.
